An open healing space for survivors

Groups and Workshops

We offer virtual workshops to individuals of all genders, and virtual and in-person groups for women, trans, and non-binary survivors, ages sixteen and older, who have been sexually assaulted at any point in their lives. Our workshops are free and confidential. Be sure to register early to ensure space is reserved for you.

Shades of the Soul | First Tuesday of every Month | 7:30 - 9:00 PM
This monthly group is for Black, Indigenous and Racialized survivors of sexual violence and is a healing and celebratory place where your truths will be held sacred. This program will explore coping strategies and the complexity of BIR survivors' experiences. We look forward to welcoming you!

Family Court Peer Support | Third Tuesday of every Month | 12:00 - 1:00 PM
​This free, ongoing group is open to women and non-binary folks that have experienced abuse, control or violence in their relationship and/or family, and are at the beginning, middle, or end of their journey through the Family Court System.

Each week the discussion will be focused on a specific topic, and group members will have the opportunity to share their experiences in a safe, supportive environment.

Nature Stroll – In-person | Monday, January 30th | 12:30 – 1:30 PM
Date/Time: Monday, January 30th | 12:30 – 1:30pm 
Where: Location will be given after registration, it will be on a bus route and have free parking available in the Kitchener area 

It is the coldest time of year, so what better time to bundle up and get some fresh air and hopefully sunlight to get us through. In this meet up for survivors, we will go for a leisurely walk together and take some intentional moments to be mindful of the natural world around us.

An open online support group where survivors can connect and discuss how they are coping and what has been challenging and useful in their healing journey. Join us one Friday or every other Friday!  ​

Art of Healing – Online | Every other Thursday | January 12th - March 23rd | 12:30 – 2 PM
Date/Time: Every other Thursday, 12:30 – 2pm, January 12th -  March 23rd 

This virtual expressive arts-based program will use various forms of media in hopes of exploring healing themes. No artistic experience is required. You will need a blank canvas (blank, lined paper, canvas, etc) and something to create with (pens, markers, pencil crayons, paint, etc.). Artist Elfie Kalfakis will co-facilitate this group. This group is for women-identified survivors.

Healthy Relationships after Trauma - Online | Wednesdays, January 11th - March 1st | 1 – 2:30 PM
Date/Time: Wednesdays, 1 – 2:30pm, January 11th – March 1st

Building and maintaining healthy relationships after sexual violence can come with unique challenges. In this 8-week closed group, we will discuss the impact of trauma on relationships, healthy/unhealthy behaviours in relationships, and tools for healthy communication with the people in our lives. This group is not just for folks navigating romantic relationships, but will also include conversations around relationships with family and friends. This group is for women-identified survivors.  


Week 1 – Introductions and relationship rights   
Week 2 – Impact of trauma on relationships, attachment  
Week 3 – Looking out for relationship flags, gaslighting and learning to trust yourself 
Week 4 – Communication  
Week 5 – Boundaries part 1 (making requests) 
Week 6 – Boundaries part 2 (saying no) 
Week 7 – Intro to sexual healing 
Week 8 – Coping with relationships ending/changing, grieving relationships  ​

A 6-week closed group to explore discovering or rediscovering sexuality after trauma. Topics will include consent, boundaries, and navigating sexual intimacy with yourself and in relationships. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect, journal, read, draw and discuss what healthy sexuality means for them on their own unique path toward sexual healing. 

This group is for women-identified survivors.

Queer Healing from Sexual Violence - Online | Tuesdays, March 28 - May 2nd | 1 – 2:30 PM

A 6-week closed group for healing from sexual violence open to survivors of all genders in the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community.

Into the Light - Healing from Child Sexual Trauma - Online | Thursdays, January 19 – April 13 | 7 – 9 PM  (not meeting on March 16)

A 12-week virtual group for survivors healing from childhood sexual trauma. As part of a community of survivors we will explore coping tools, sleep, emotional regulation, addiction, shame, the inner child, relationships, boundaries, resilience, acceptance and the sacred path to healing. This group is for women-identified survivors. ​

Neurobiology of Trauma and Healing (Pre-Counselling Workshop) | Drop Down for Dates and Times

This workshop will explore the complex and powerful responses the brain and body have during traumatic events, the relationship between trauma and memory, and how we come to process and heal trauma in the mind and in the body. By the end of this workshop, we hope you will grain a deepened understanding of neurobiology as it relates to trauma, survival, and growth. As well as some tools and coping strategies that may be useful on your healing journey. Open to survivors of all genders. ​

Understanding Intergenerational Trauma | Monday, March 20th | 7:30 – 9 PM

This workshop will give an overview of what intergenerational trauma is and the impacts of this on individuals and communities. Pathways for intergenerational healing will be explored.
