SASC is teaming up with local post-secondary institutions Conestoga College, University of Waterloo, and Wilfrid Laurier University to address sexual violence on campus and in the community with a tote-bag campaign this fall:

The Campaign

#ConsentMatters invites students, staff, faculty, and the community to take a stand against sexual and gender-based violence. Organizers ask participants to show support by purchasing a campaign tote bag, taking a picture with the tote, and posting it online with awareness and pro-consent messaging using the campaign hashtag. This year's design is once again by Trisha Abe, a local artist and muralist. 

Campus and community members are encouraged to order their tote bags by Friday, November 3, 2023 and use them starting on November 25, 2023 - the kick-off for the annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global initiative supported by the UN. ​
