The trial of Jeffry Sloka, former neurologist, is one of largest sexual assault cases in Waterloo Region’s history.

On April 24th, 2026, Justice Craig Parry is set to deliver his verdict - four years and seven months after the trial began. The case involved close to 70 women and, at its peak, more than 70 charges. By the end of the trial, the court considered 48 accounts of sexual assault involving 41 women, following pre-trial rulings and dismissals.

​This has been a long and complex journey for many survivors in our community - from the time of the assaults, through a lengthy investigation, and a multi-year trial. Survivors have waited years for this moment.

Join SASC staff and volunteers ​at the courthouse on April 24th in a show of solidarity with survivors in our community.

Give yourself plenty of time to park or navigate downtown. Bring a sign or wear purple* to increase our visibility and show your support.

This is not​ a protest - this is a gathering to show solidarity with survivors, their loved ones, and anyone affected by this trial. Participation should be survivor-focused and rooted in care.

If you wish to attend the ruling inside (space permitting), please note:

• Signs are not permitted inside. 
• Everyone who enters the courthouse is subject to a security screening, which includes metal detectors. 
• There are accessible, inclusive washrooms on every floor of the courthouse.
• Photography/recording is not permitted, and all devices should be silenced.
• No food or beverages are permitted inside, except for water.
• Disruptive or disrespectful attendees may be asked to leave.

Addressing the Impacts of the Sloka Trial

An intimate gathering for those impacted by the trial 
​to come together, reflect, and access support in community.

We know that many people in our community have been deeply impacted — survivors, loved ones, and those who care about them. You may be carrying a range of feelings, questions, or reactions. However you’re feeling, you’re not alone. We also know how important it can be to have a space where you don’t have to hold all of that by yourself.

We invite you to join us for a gentle, supportive gathering where we can come together, connect, and process what this moment has meant, personally and collectively. There will be space to share (if you’d like), to listen, and to simply be in community with others who understand.

Together, we’ll reflect on the impacts of the trial, the verdict, and the media coverage, and we’ll explore ways to support ourselves and one another as we move forward.
