At the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region, we know that everyone who reaches out to us has a unique and complex journey ahead of them. Sexual violence has a profound impact on people’s lives. Finding a path forward isn’t always clear, and it’s rarely linear.

She shares honestly about the setbacks, the rebuilding, and the moments of hope… all in the belief that her story might inspire you to invest in others walking a similar road.

More than half of the support that survivors receive from SASC isn’t covered by sustainable government funding. Each year, we must raise 53% of our budget simply to keep the most critical services available for survivors in our community.

Because of you, survivors can access:

• Free, trauma-informed counselling
• Space to connect with others in groups which foster healing, connection, and community
• Assistance navigating the justice system – from understanding options, to reporting to police, and being supported through court
• 24-hour support if they’re in crisis
• ​Advocacy with healthcare providers, housing, schools, workplaces, and other systems
• Practical supports like food, clothing, and transportation, offered without judgement​

While we greatly encourage donations to our general fund, you can choose to direct your gift to a specific need that you feel passionate about. Learn about different funds you can give to below!

General Fund
Give to our General Fund to support SASC's most urgent needs. Your donation will help people like *Jane who reached a caring volunteer on our 24 Hour Support Line, and *Devon, who is one of over 200 people currently waiting for individual counselling.

​Your donation helps us build capacity at our Centre, so that Jane and Devon get the help they need.

Counselling Fund
Make a donation to our Counselling Fund, and help survivors like Lisa*, who has been fighting isolation after sexual assault by utilizing virtual group therapy options, like our Alone Together weekly check-in session.

Anti-Human Trafficking Fund
Designate your gift to our Anti- Human Trafficking Fund, and help survivors of sexual exploitation, like MJ*,  who has been receiving wrap-around support from our staff including counselling, advocacy, safety planning, food & obtaining housing.

Public Education and Male Allies Fund
