October 4 2016: Sisters In Spirit honours missing & murdered indigneous women/girls

Jul 12 2016

Friends, join us at Kitchener City Hall from 6:00PM to 7:30PM on Tuesday, October 4th 2016! We'll be there in support of the drum circle, Mino Ode Kwewak N'gamowak (Good Hearted Women Singers) and White Owl Native Ancestry Association as they collaborate on a Sisters in Spirit event.

The Waterloo Regional Police Male Chorus have also been invited to perform to break down barriers, build dialogues and create change in relationships.

On October 4th we honour the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and support families who have been tragically touched by the loss of a loved one to violence.

On this day Sisters in Spirit vigils take place from coast to coast to coast. No other event brings so many Indigenous communities and Canadian citizens together to specifically celebrate, honour and support Indigenous women and girls. Sisters in Spirit  vigils have become a movement for social change and a reminder that our sisters will not be forgotten.
