Maternity Contract-Full-time Crisis Line and Volunteer Manager
(35 hours per week)
The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region (SASC) is accepting applications for a maternity leave contract for a full time Crisis Line and Volunteer Manager. We are a feminist social profit organization working to end sexual violence.
Position Summary: Responsible to develop, implement and maintain the Volunteer Program and coordinate the 24/7 Crisis and Support Line service. Responsibilities are to be completed in a manner that reflects SASC’S Mission and philosophy. Program goals are to recruit, comprehensively train and retain SASC volunteers and ensure visibility and quality of Crisis Line services for the region of Waterloo.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in social services or a related field
- Proven experience managing volunteers
- Demonstrated training and commitment to anti-violence/oppression work with knowledge of how sexual violence relates to other forms of oppression
- Experience developing training curriculum and facilitating within the framework of social change.
- Crisis intervention, support and advocacy with women
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and public speaking skills
- Excellent decision making and strong time management skills
- Good computer and organization skills
- Bilingualism/multilingualism an asset
- Ability to work in a modified collective structure
